Arriving in Key West, you are suddenly aware that real time- real life, in fact- has stopped. People walk along the streets at a leisurely pace, the bars are filled with people and musicians at all hours, and no one is in a hurry for anything to change. Key West is a place to escape from it all and, while it has a reputation for being rather wild, the off season is decidedly fun and relaxed.
I stayed inland at The Saint Hotel, which was an amaaazing place to be, but this photograph was captured at The Reach, a Waldorf Astoria hotel on the water. While it isn’t as close to the center of town, the hotel was stunning- if the point of going to Key West is to get away from it all, this may be the perfect place to be…
I worked on capturing a bit of the feel of Key West in some recent additions to the Fine Art collection, including this photograph, which are now available in the shop. Click here to see the complete set of images in the “Beyond the Sea” series!
Wish you were here- k.
