There is an international movement taking place at this moment, redefining what it means to be a woman over 40. Look no further than your television (And Just Like That), the movies (Something's Got to Give) or the newsstand (Have you seen the new Sports Illustrated swimsuit issue?). Women are owning their confidence, their beauty and their stories in ways that are empowering others to stand up and be counted. We've created a special photoshoot experience to honor women over 40, which begins with your own custom photoshoot and ends with a gala celebration honoring everyone who participated!

For far too long, women over 40 have been portrayed as "old" in the media. Did you know the Golden Girls characters were written to be 47-55 years old? Contrast that with the Sex and the City characters who were written to be 54-55! As a society, the way we view older women is changing rapidly & it's been incredible to witness. At the studio, we believe that every woman has a beautiful, unique and empowering story to tell. Through this series, we are hoping to give women a platform to do just that. Join us as we focus our lenses on the diverse experiences, incredible stories, authentic beauty, and collective confidence of women over the age of 40!

Can you help me figure out what to wear?
Absolutely! During our planning call (which usually takes place via Zoom) we'll go over the different locations and looks you'd like to capture. We'll talk about wardrobe for each of the looks. For a one hour photoshoot, we can usually do 3-4 looks, for longer sessions, we can obviously incorporate more. Note that we can include both pieces from your own closet & from our style library!
Frequently Asked Questions
I really like how my stylist does my hair. Can I do that on my own?
Absolutely. We want everything to be perfect for you and if you have a stylist you know and love, go for it! We do prefer to do our clients' makeup in studio, however, as they are experienced with doing makeup for professional lighting.
How far in advance should I reach out to you?
Great question! We recommend reaching out as soon as you know you'd like to participate. We are only able to do 1-2 of these sessions a week so they fill up quickly. Once we've photographed our 40th client, we'll plan the celebration event!
It says one image is included. Can I order more?
Of course. We want everyone to have one special image of themselves, but we will review all of the photographs during your ordering session and you are welcome to order more. What you decide to order is entirely up to you, but most clients spend $1,000- $3000 on photographs and printed products.
When will the 40 Over 40 celebration take place?
We'll send out all the details as soon as we have scheduled our 40th participant. We'll keep you posted on everything, but please plan to attend as it's an amazing experience to be there celebrating each other!
